Under 21 To Say No To Nicotine
Like lots of tobacco control organizations, Tobacco 21 not only opposes smoking, but also maintains a policy of zero tolerance toward low-risk nicotine products. The vape page on the T21 website is actually called "Electronic Cigarettes - a gateway to adult smoking."
The T21 website says: "Of course, e-cigarettes should be sold and marketed like conventional cigarettes, but in most states, the right law has lagged well behind flammable cigarettes. Recently, the FDA has begun the slow process of restricting e-cigarette sales to those over 18, but they have made no move to reduce marketing to kids, limit youthful flavoring, or monitor online sales.”
The problem with this position is that many people under the age of 21 are already smoking. They need access to low-risk and high-quality vaping products just like smokers over 21. Tobacco21 wants everyone under 21 to say "no" to nicotine. But in the real world, there are many teenage smokers.
